The Duckstein Brewery started as a dream for one man, whose father was a brewer in Germany many years before. He came to us to find a way to fulfill that dream, which we did.

Challenges faced

The Councils Local Planning Scheme made no provision for breweries in the Swan Valley. We were able to negotiate the introduction of a new ‘Use Class’ into the Scheme to create an opportunity to approve breweries in an important winery and tourism area. This pioneering action lead to a number of other breweries being approved, including the award winning Feral Brewery and Elmars in the Valley, for which we were the applicants.
